SIG files cannot be opened on non-Broderbund software, but can be converted to.JPEG form using an. Broderbund Print Shop software offers advertising solutions for a number of print jobs including brochures, DVD covers, posters and more. The software specifically uses a.SIG file extension to read and format the files. A.sig file is small text file (with a.sig extension) that can be automatically attached to the end of email messages. The phrase SIG file is also used to identify blocks of text used for similar purposes through different channels. SIG file: GPG/PGP Signature. Read here what the SIG file is, and what application you need to open or convert it. ![]() There are 3 kind of.sig (.asc or.gpg) files. Signed files: The content of the file is signed and will look like gibberish with a notepad. It's the output of any of these commands in the CMD or Terminal: gpg --sign message.txt // The output is a signed file called message.txt.gpg gpg -a --sign message.txt // As above but ASCII armored and called // message.txt.asc gpg -o message.sig --sign message.txt // As the first one but the file will be called // message.sig gpg -a -o message.sig --sign message.txt // Combination of the 2nd and 3rd. To verify the sign, just type: gpg --verify message.txt.asc To get the content of the file type either one of this commands: gpg --decrypt message.txt.asc // It will verify the sign and the message will appear // in the CMD or Terminal. Gpg -o message.txt --decrypt message.txt.asc // Verifies and outputs the file with the message. Clearsigned files: The content of the file stays intact and below it there is the signature of the content. It is the output of one of these commands: gpg --clearsign message.txt // The output is an ASCII armored file called // message.txt.asc where the message appears // first and the signature appear after the // message gpg -o message_clear.sig --clearsign message.txt // As above but the name will be message_clear.sig. To verify use the same verify command as above. The content can be extracted manually in the file with a text editor or with the decrypting commands. Detached signature files: It's the signature of clearsign but turned into an individual file. The file and its contents are intact. It is the output of typing one of these commands: gpg --detach-sign message.txt // The output is a binary signature file called // message.txt.sig gpg -a --detach-sign message.txt // The output is an armored signature file called // message.txt.asc gpg -o message_detached.sig --detach-sign message.txt // As the first one but named message.sig gpg -a -o message_detached.sig --detach-sign message.txt // As combination of second and third one. To verify, you need both the file and the detached signature file and use the next command: gpg --verify message_detached.sig message.txt No need to decrypt, unless it's already encrypted. Detached signed are normally used for signing binary files (.exe,.doc,.img, etc.) • • • •. What is a SIG file? Files that contain the.sig file extension are small text files that contain an email 'signature' that has been created by an email user. These files can be automatically attached at the end of a user's email messages, allowing them to send emails without having to retype the signature information each time the email is sent. SIG files are often used for business emails and normally contain the name of the user, their email address, the name of the company they work for, their title and their contact information. In some instances people will use SIG files for personal emails, including their name, email address and a personal statement at the bottom of each email. Many email programs allow a user to create multiple SIG files.
